Boston University Directions:


Boston University Campus Map

From South or West:

Take the Mass Turnpike (I-90) East to Exit 18, Allston/Cambridge. Exit left. Bear right following signs towards Cambridge. Take an immediate right at the Doubletree Suites onto Storrow Drive (second set of lights, but both before crossing bridge). Exit Storrow Drive at the Kenmore exit. Follow Local Directions below.

From Southeast:

Take I-93/Route 3 (Southeast Expressway) North to Boston. Exit onto Storrow Drive (Exit 26). Continue on Storrow Drive to the Kenmore exit. Then follow Local Directions.

From North:

Take I-93 or Route 1 South to Boston. Exit onto Storrow Drive (Exit 26). Continue on Storrow Drive to the Kenmore exit. Follow Local Directions below.

Local Directions from the Kenmore Square exit off Storrow Drive:

At the first set of traffic lights, turn right onto Beacon Street. At this point, the road forks; the right fork is Bay State Road, the left fork will take you into Kenmore Square. Take the left fork. When in Kenmore Square, bear right onto Commonwealth Avenue. At the fourth set of lights after Howard Johnson's Hotel, take a left onto Saint Mary's Street. The Photonics Center is on your left, 8 Saint Mary's Street. For drop off and pickup use Babbit Street (Gated Entry- gates will open after vehicle approches gate).

From Hotels to Boston University:

For the Inn at Longwood, exit hotel and take a right onto Longwood Avenue. Proceed down Longwood Avenue to Brookline Avenue. Take a right onto Brookline Avenue and proceed to Commonwealth Avenue. Take a left onto Commonwealth Avenue, and at the fourth set of lights after Howard Johnson's Hotel, take a left onto Saint Mary's Street. The Photonics Center is on your left, 8 Saint Mary's Street. For drop off and pickup use Babbit Street (Gated Entry- gates will open after vehicle approches gate). From the Hotel Commonwealth, exit hotel and go West on Commonwealth Avenue (away from Downtown Boston). Proceed down Commonwealth Avenue, at the fourth set of lights after Howard Johnson's Hotel, take a left onto Saint Mary's Street. The Photonics Center is on your left, 8 Saint Mary's Street. For drop off and pickup use Babbit Street (Gated Entry- gates will open after vehicle approches gate).

From Public Transportation:

Subway: Take the Green line Outbound B train and exit at BU Central (beyond Kenmore Square stop). Walk up St. Mary's street away from Marsh Plaza one half block. The Photonics Center will be on your left. ($1.25, underground transfers only) Bus: Exit bus #57 at St. Mary's Street. The bus runs along Commonwealth Avenue from Kenmore square, Brighton Avenue through Union Square, and Cambridge Street through Brighton Center. ($.90, no transfers)

From Logan Airport:

Subway: Outside baggage claim, catch the free shuttle bus to the subway: #22 for terminals A and B, #33 for terminals C,D, and E. Take Blue line ($1.25) to Government Center and change to Green line B (track is immediately atop the escalator/stairs). Follow From Public Transportation above.
Car: Follow signs to Summer/Callahan tunnel.After tunnel, turn right onto I-93. Follow directions From Southeast above.

Boston University Parking:

Please be sure to indicate on your registration form if you need parking at Boston University on April 4th. Otherwise we will not be able to provide parking.

Parking at Warren Towers:

Follow directions as above but make a U-turn at the third set of lights after Howard Johnson's Hotel. Take your first right and then turn right again into the Warren Towers garage. Directions From the Parking Garage:
Exit the parking garage onto Commonwealth Avenue and take a left. Walk 2 blocks (you are walking away from Kenmore Square). Take a left onto Saint Mary's Street. The Photonics Center will be on your left. You will be entering the building on the second floor.

From the north (via Route I-93 or Route 1)

Take the Storrow Drive exit, and proceed to the Fenway exit. Follow signs for Boylston Street inbound, and bear right onto Westland Avenue. Turn right onto Massachusetts Avenue. Proceed to the second traffic light, and turn right onto Huntington Avenue. Proceed down Huntington Avenue to Gainsborough Street. Turn left onto Gainsborough, and proceed one block. The Gainsborough Parking Garage (#45 on the above map) is on the south west corner. Walk from the Garage to the Egan Research Center 120 Forsyth St., Boston, MA 02115 (#60).

From the west (via Route 90, Massachusetts Turnpike)

Take Exit 22, Copley Square, to Avenue of the Arts (Huntington Avenue). Proceed down Huntington Avenue to Gainsborough Street (0.5mi). Turn left onto Gainsborough, and proceed one block. The Gainsborough Parking Garage (#45 on the above map) is on the south west corner. Walk from the Garage to the Egan Research Center 120 Forsyth St., Boston, MA 02115 (#60).

From the west (via Route 9)

Proceed east on Route 9; it will become Huntington Avenue. Proceed down Huntington Avenue to Gainsborough Street. Turn right onto Gainsborough, and proceed one block. From the south (via Route 3, Southeast Expressway)

Via public transportation

Northeastern is accessible by subway via the Green Line of the MBTA. From downtown Boston, take a Green Line "E" train outbound(from Inn at Longwood take inbound train) toward Heath Street, and get off at the Northeastern stop, the first stop above ground (see "T" on Huntington Avenue on Map above). The campus can also be reached from downtown via the Orange Line by taking any train going outbound toward Forest Hills and getting off at Ruggles Station (see "T" near #61 on Map above). Northeastern University Parking

Parking is available for participants at the Northeastern University Gainsborough Park Garage (see #45 on Map above), which is located at Gainsborough Street. Parking tickets will be validated at the conference. Please be sure to bring your garage ticket with you to the registration desk for validation.
